About SCOUTS BSA Troop 407/ 704
Welcome to the adventure of Scouts BSA! Troop 407, established in 1982, is committed to providing a quality Scouting program of character development, citizenship training, and mental and physical fitness to youth aged 11-17 in the Novi area. Traditionally a Boy Troop, we now have several Girls in our linked Troop 704!
We meet weekly on Monday nights, 7:00 – 8:30 pm, at Faith Community Presbyterian Church, 44400 West 10 Mile Road, in Novi. We typically have at least one-weekend campout or outdoor activity each month, with at least one weeklong summer camp activity in mid-summer. We know families are busy, and we do our best to work around each family’s schedule. Our troop has multiple scouts who play sports and are active in Band/choir, Church, and Cultural groups.
All youth are welcome to visit one of our meetings and try Scouting without an upfront commitment. Your child will meet with the scouts, and our adults will answer any parents’ questions.
We celebrate our diversity; several families are bilingual (Japanese language, OK!)
The troop is youth-led, as the scouts elect their leadership within the troop. They are supported by Scoutmasters and a troop committee run entirely by unpaid volunteer parents and adults who are dedicated to the values of Scouting and who work to instill in the youth new skills, good citizenship, leadership, and adherence to the values of Scouting as outlined by the Boy Scouts of America.
We currently have over 25 active members in fifth through twelfth grades. We don’t claim to be the best troop around because no one troop is best for everyone. Each troop has a different style and emphasis, but our Scouts plan and conduct various activities in a structured yet fun, friendly, and casual environment where each Scout can do their best.
For youth in kindergarten through 4th grade, CubScout Pack 239 also welcomes all boys and girls to join, and we are happy to introduce you to their team.

スカウト BSA (BOY SCOUTS AMERICA)の冒険へようこそ!
1982年に設立されたトループ407部隊は、ノバイの地域に住む11歳から17歳までの青少年に、人格形成、市民性教育、精神的、健康的にも質の高いスカウトプログラムを子供たちへと提供することに取り組んでいます。
以前は青少年部隊でしたが、現在はトループ407とリンクされているトループ704に数名の女子メンバーがおり、トループ407の男子メンバーと共に、ボーイスカウトのメンバーとして一緒に活動しております。
主な活動として毎週月曜日の夜午後7時から8時30分まで、ノバイにある教会でミーティングを行っております。

その他の活動は月に約一度、週末にキャンプもしくはアウトドアアクティビティがあります。夏休みの間には1週間のサマーキャンプを行っています。
皆さんのご家庭がそれぞれ多忙であることは承知しており、各ご家庭のスケジュールに合わせてアクティビティを行うよう最善を尽くしておりますが、ご期待に添えない場合もあります。（私達のグループの子供達にも、スポーツ、バンド、合唱団、教会、文化グループで活動するスカウトが複数おります。）

現在所属する子供達の様子を見たり、お子様が他のスカウトに質問したり、保護者の皆様のご質問には代表を務める保護者がお答えします。
私達のグループでは、多様性を尊重しており、バイリンガルな家庭も複数参加されています。（インド、日本、フィリピンなど） (日本語OK!)
各活動ですが、スカウト（子供達）が部隊内で独自のリーダーを選出するため、部隊は若者主導で行わています。
子供達はスカウトの価値観に基づき、青少年にこれから必要とされるスキル、リーダシップなどを学べるように、グループのスカウトマスターと、ボランティアの保護者や大人たちによってサポートされております。
現在、私達の部隊では5年生から12年生までの約25名のメンバーが活動しています。誰にとっても最適な部隊は存在しないため、私達トループ407が最も優れた部隊とは言えませんが、私達の部隊では各スカウトが楽しみながら最善を尽くすことができ、楽しく、カジュアルでフレンドリーな環境の中、子供達自身で、さまざまな活動を計画し実施しています。
その他、ノバイには小さい子供達向けに、幼稚園から4年生までの青少年を対象としたカブスカウトパック239もあります。（こちらも男女歓迎！）
